Lesson Policies
General Information · Lessons are private and your choice of ½ hour or 1 hour in duration. · A recurring day and time slot is scheduled for your lessons each week. · All lessons are conducted in the Oak Hill Drum Studio. · The studio will provide all instruments, stands, audio reproduction equipment, and hardware necessary to provide for professional instruction. · Teaching hours are Monday – Thursday from 2:00 pm to 8:30 pm, and until 5:00 pm on Friday. We are closed on Saturday and Sunday. · Clients are expected to attend their lessons on a regular basis.
Rates & Payments · Individual Rates: $33 per ½ hour lesson, $55 per 1 hour lesson. Advance payment is required to book your lessons. · Monthly Rates: $115 for ½ hour lessons, $190 for 1 hour lessons. Advance payment is required to book your lessons. Monthly payments are due on the 25th of the prior month. For example, payment for June lessons is due on or before the 25th of May. Monthly rates include the occasional 5 week month at no additional cost. The rate is the same each month regardless of the number of lessons taken. A $10 late fee will be accessed after the 25th. · Payment methods are cash, check, or online credit card payment at http://www.oakhilldrumstudio.com/signup.htm · No refunds are provided as your lesson appointments are reserved exclusively for you. · Please confirm your appointment times prior to paying for lessons.
Required Materials · Minimum requirements are drumsticks, a method book, and something to play on at home, such as a practice pad or drumset. We have sticks, books, and pads for sale at the studio. · A music stand and a metronome are also needed, but are considered optional. · Please bring your sticks and method book with you to your lessons.
Rescheduling Policy · There are no make ups for missed lessons. The 5th lesson week in a month is considered a make up date if you miss a lesson, or bonus lesson with good attendance. · 48 hours advance notice is required to reschedule a lesson (email preferred). Rescheduling is limited to available openings during our regular business hours and within 14 days of your original appointment date. Please understand that due to the popularity of our lessons, we may not have another opening suitable to you for rescheduling. Rescheduling of appointments is not guaranteed and may result in 2 lessons (or an extended lesson) scheduled in one week. · Lessons falling on major holidays or on bad weather days cannot be rescheduled. Monthly rates are discounted and therefore inclusive of occasional closures due to bad weather and major holidays. · A lesson appointment can only be rescheduled once. We cannot reschedule a lesson that you have already rescheduled.
Cancellation Policy · To cancel a lesson appointment call 512-964-6778 or email david@oakhilldrumstudio.com. Notification is essential in keeping your account in good standing. · If you cancel or miss a lesson your payment covers our studio and instructor time. No make-ups or refunds are provided. · If your instructor cancels a lesson, an alternative lesson date will be offered. · You may quit your lessons at any time, but please give a 30-day notice so we may conclude your lessons properly.
Additional Services · New Drumset "out of box" assembly and setup. · Drum head installation and tuning. · Hardware adjustments and repairs. · Video recordings of your student.
Holidays and Other Closings · The studio will close on Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. · In the event your school or work closes due to bad weather, the studio will also close. · The studio may occasionally close due to music performances, educational events, or other reasons. You will be notified prior to these occurrences. Your lessons will not be scheduled on these closings.
Paying for lessons is acceptance to the policies stated herein. |
